Angela Wood

Design ~ Writing ~ Social Media ~ Editing

I’m a Harvard-educated writer and designer who is passionate about the craft of wordsmithing, the inspiration of content generation, and clear, creative design. They are all forms of storytelling, from social media, interviews, articles, marketing materials, to books. The magic of story is manifold, whether it is a well-timed social post that inspires a person to learn more, an interview or a course flyer that opens a new path, or a magazine that fosters community. Below you will find representations of my work (some accredited to Silver Webb, my pen name, and Angela Borda, my maiden name).

“Angela is a gifted writer with a refined design sensibility, producing thoughtful, beautifully written content and polished visual assets that maintained strong brand consistency across platforms.” -Supervisor, Pacifica Graduate Institute

Social Media

Telling stories that build community. Content generation, image sourcing, design, and scheduling. I generated content, designed posts, and scheduled social media for Pacifica Graduate institute for two years (2024-2025), driving an upward trend of views and interactions. I currently create and schedule social media for SilverWebb.com and sbdoughsisters.com. Photoshop, Canva, Loomly, Hubspot.

Printed Materials

From conference programs to newsletters to event posters, I delight in designing material to draw the eye and invite the viewer in. From 2015-2023 I created event flyers, conference marketing, and course flyers for UCSB’s Center for Taiwan Studies. I also created event flyers for Santa Barbara Literary Journal and the Santa Barbara Costume Guild. Adobe Creative Suite.

"Angela’s interviews are rich and compelling, her editorial voice is precise and imaginative, and her online magazine layouts demonstrate a unique blend of vision and artistry." -Colleague, Pacifica Graduate Institute

Publications

Creating magazines, journals, catalogues, and more with engaging visual style. Cover design, layout, editorial, content development. From 2020-2023, I designed the layout for Pacifica Graduate Institute’s yearly guide. In 2025, I co-edited, wrote articles for, and laid out PGI’s Insights, a quarterly magazine and PEIS’s Winter Catalogue. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva.

Book Cover Design

Long after most of my peers have succumbed to the allure of a Kindle reader, I’ve championed the exquisite art of the book, designing covers and internal layout to showcase the stories for the Santa Barbara Literary Journal, the Center for Taiwan Studies, and individual authors. Adobe Creative Suite.

“Angela’s writing skills are truly outstanding—whether crafting compelling content or managing complex projects, Angela consistently delivers work of the highest quality.” -Supervisor, Pacifica Graduate Institute

Articles, Interviews

From 2022 to 2025, I contributed articles and interviews to Pacifica Post, the news section of Pacifica Graduate Institute’s website. I was privileged to discuss depth psychology with many of Pacifica’s distinguished scholars, creating a voice of scholastic inquiry that built a sense of community among  alumni, students, and faculty.

Editor

I’ve served as co-editor of Harvard’s Dudley Review, a contributing editor to Taiwan Literature English Translation Series, and the founder/editor of the Santa Barbara Literary Journal (2018-2024). I also do book editing on a freelance basis.

Food Writing

From 2015 to 2019, I contributed articles and even my own column, “Downtown Dish,” to Food & Home, exploring and reporting back on everything from rattlesnake bratwurst to the perfect beverage to sip on State Street. I also wrote for Kanaloa Seafoods and Calibressan Chocolates.
